This self-reflection project takes the form of a dual-sided book that examines how my design practice has evolved over the course of one year. By revisiting and featuring my own projects from different assignments at Design Process 1 and Design Process 2, the book becomes a reflective archive—allowing me to observe patterns, shifts, and contrasts in my approach to layout, typography, and visual thinking.
The book is structured around two distinct yet connected visual systems—orange and blue—which represent my movement between structure and experimentation. These colours recur throughout my work and became a clear way to frame how my projects shifted over time: from controlled, grid-based compositions to more bold, experimental, and expressive outcomes. The orange side emphasizes breaking the grid and visual tension, while the blue side reflects organization, symmetry, and restraint.
Through layout, typography, imagery, and placement, the project translates this reflection into a visual narrative of making and breaking. Rather than presenting my work chronologically, the dual format highlights how different modes of thinking coexist in my practice. By using my own projects as content, the book documents not only what I designed, but how my design decisions, confidence, and visual language developed throughout the year.
